Malaysia gold price 22 October 2026 with Kijang Emas coins

Malaysia’s gold price edged higher on Thursday morning. Bank Negara Malaysia raised the one-ounce Kijang Emas selling price by RM34 to RM17,858 on 22 October 2026, while its buying price increased RM23 to RM17,153.

The move came as international bullion steadied after dipping to a one-week low. Local retail quotes remained well above the raw metal reference because physical products include provider spreads and premiums.

Malaysia Gold Price on 22 October 2026

Bank Negara Malaysia’s official Kijang Emas table showed these daily prices:

  • One ounce: selling RM17,858; buying RM17,153.
  • Half ounce: selling RM9,098; buying RM8,576.
  • Quarter ounce: selling RM4,633; buying RM4,288.

All three denominations rose from Wednesday. The one-ounce selling price increased from RM17,824, the half-ounce quote gained RM18 and the quarter-ounce quote rose RM9.

The one-ounce buy-sell spread widened slightly to RM705, equal to about 3.95% of the selling price. That gap matters for buyers who may need to resell through the same channel, because the market must first cover the spread before the displayed buyback price reaches the original purchase quote.

BullBuzz’s 21 October gold update recorded a RM89 fall. Thursday’s RM34 increase recovers only part of that decline, leaving the one-ounce selling price RM55 below Tuesday’s level.

Public Gold Quotes RM587 Per Gram

Public Gold’s live price board, updated at 7:35 AM Malaysia time, quoted its Gold Accumulation Program at RM587 per gram. Its five-gram 24K bar was listed at RM2,929 selling and RM2,665 buying, while the 100-gram bar stood at RM57,789 selling and RM53,744 buying.

Those figures should not be compared directly with a spot-only quote. Public Gold’s page states that prices are in ringgit and exclude gold premium, while the final cost can also vary by product weight and transaction terms.

A separate local market reference from HargaEmas.my placed 999 gold at RM542.067 per gram early Thursday, down 0.332% from its previous reading. Its 916 reference was RM496.534/g, with MYR/USD at 4.0873.

Global Gold Holds Near US$4,138

Kitco’s live gold chart showed spot gold at US$4,137.80 an ounce late Wednesday in New York, up US$13.70 for the session. The displayed range was US$4,105.40 to US$4,142.80.

A Reuters report carried by MarketScreener put spot gold at US$4,127.31 earlier in the session after prices touched their lowest level since 15 October. The report said oil-driven inflation concerns and expectations for US interest rates were keeping the metal in a narrow range ahead of the Federal Reserve’s 27–28 October meeting.

Higher interest rates generally raise the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding gold. For Malaysian buyers, the ringgit adds another variable: a weaker local currency can lift ringgit-denominated prices even when dollar gold is flat, while a firmer ringgit can soften them.

What Malaysian Buyers Should Watch Next

Thursday’s modest Kijang Emas rebound does not yet reverse this week’s pullback. The official one-ounce selling quote remains RM253 below Monday’s RM18,111 level.

Buyers comparing products should record four items together: weight, purity, selling price and buyback price. A one-ounce bullion coin, a five-gram bar and a digital gold account carry different costs, update times and redemption conditions.

The recent sequence also shows why a single daily move can mislead. BullBuzz tracked a RM198 fall on 20 October after a RM120 rise on 19 October. Thursday’s smaller rebound leaves the broader direction sensitive to global yields, oil prices and the ringgit.
